Storm over Rocky Pinelands - Long Pine Key, Everglades National Park

Today I made a third trip into the Rocky Pinelands in search for the Florida Leafwing, and again I came up empty.  However, I did find a number of Florida Tree Snails along one of the hammocks in the area. I got caught in a pretty heavy downpour and afterwards the snails were very active which provided an opportunity for me to photograph these beautiful snails as they were out of their shells and moving around. See today's newsletter for these images. As I finished photographing the snails I noticed quite a large storm moving in and had to get out of there quickly. I did stop to take a few images of the dark sky, one of which is above. I love the stips of color in this image. Hope you enjoy.
