Würdermann's Heron (Great Blue Heron) - Flamingo, Everglades National Park

This evening I found this beautiful bird at the marina in Flamingo. A Würdermann's Heron is the intermediate morph between the blue and white phases of the Great Blue Heron. They are much rarer than either of the normal morphs and I was thrilled to be able to photograph this bird, especially in nice warm evening light.

Interesting Sightings

I found the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher again at Mrazek Pond which was thrilling as well as the Würdermann's Heron at the marina.

Other Interesting Observations:

On a slow drive around the area this evening I discovered a Pileated Woodpecker hiding in a cavity which I assume is a nest. I was thrilled to find it and will be photographing it and hopefully chicks in the nest in the upcoming weeks.
