This morning I joined the research team once again to try and capture a Cape Sable Seaside Sparrow. We started the morning by heading towards a spot where I had seen an unbanded bird several days earlier. Within minutes we had captured the bird and were measuring and banding the bird. I have a great series of photographs of this bird and all the measurements that were taken. As we continued searching we had another bird bounce out of the net but did not capture anymore during the morning. The wind picked up but we still managed to find one pair of birds that was very cooperative and posed high above the grass. I captured several images but most of them were not as sharp as I had hoped due to the movement of the grass in the wind. I think I probably will try one more morning sometime next week to get some more images of these birds singing.
