Cape Sable Seaside Sparrow Researcher - Everglades National Park
|
This morning I joined the Cape Sable Seaside Sparrow research team as they were out banding birds. We did not capture any birds but did have several sightings of banded birds. These sightings help establish data concering the location of individual males' territories. I will be joining them again in the morning for one my try to photograph one of these birds up close or even in hand.

Interesting Sightings
We found a handful of Seaside Sparrows this morning north of Mahogany Hammock along the east side of Highway 9336.
Other Interesting Observations:
I found some nice warblers along the West Lake boardwalk. Included in the mixed flock were Worm-eating, Black-throated Green, Black and White, and Prairie Warblers as well as a female American Redstart.
