Singing Eastern Meadowlark - Everglades National Park

Today, I spent the morning searching for the endangered Cape Sable Seaside Sparrow. I was pleased to see two of the birds but they were so far away I could not get any good photographs. I did have a cooperative meadowlark singing in the prairie though. After leaving the sawgrass prairie I explored a couple Cypress domes and had an enjoyable late morning and afternoon photographing Cowhorn Orchids, Stiff-leafed Wild Pines, and other orchids and bromeliads.

Interesting Sightings

The Cape Sable Seaside Sparrows were a lifebird for me and talking with the researchers that were working in the field this morning was very interesting.

Other Interesting Observations:

  None.
