Today a cold front moved through finally cooling things off. I spent the morning photographing in the mangrove forests around Flamingo and Coot Bay Pond. I ran into town to run some errands and then stopped at Anhinga Trail one more time to check on the Anhinga nest I have been documenting. I was surprised to see that that the nest was now empty without any birds even on the nearby branches. I guess my time with that nest is finished. I have really enjoyed it while it lasted. This evening I spent some time photographing a juvenile Osprey that was practicing flying. He was pretty good at flying but he struggled with the landing. It was entertaining to watch him keep overshooting his landing.
