Osprey Landing - Flamingo, Everglades National Park

This evening I experienced quite a fight over a fish dinner. When I first pulled over on the side of the road this Osprey was enjoying a nice fish that he had caught. As I was unloading and setting up my camera equipment a juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk attacked him and caused him to drop the fish. The hawk pounced on the fish and began to eat it on the ground. Soon, a Turkey Vulture arrived and stole the fish from the smaller hawk. For the next twenty minutes or so the vulture and hawk ate off of the fish while the Osprey sat in the tree above. After a while an American Crow snuck in and flew off with half of the fish leaving the vulture and hawk to squabble over the remaining bits. While I did not get any photos of the birds fighting I did get some great images of each of the individual birds. Here is an image of the Osprey after it had just lost the fish and circled the tree a few times before eventually landing again.
