Purple Gallinule - Shark Valley

Today was a wonderful day that started very early at Shark Valley and ended late along Turner River Road. I had a great morning at Shark Valley with great opportunities to photograph Anhingas, both adults and chicks, as well as several Green Herons and a particularly gorgeous Purple Gallinule. In the afternoon, Dennis Olivero and I passed the time photographing along SR-839 (Turner River Road) and had a number of opportunities to photograph a Green Heron, Belted Kingfisher, and a Florida Cottonmouth. The afternoon photographs were taken with one of Dennis's cameras that I was trying out so I will process them soon. Regardless, it was great to be out and taking photos again.

On another note, I will be out of town again this weekend. There will not be a weblog until next Tuesday and my newsletter will be sent out either late Monday night or sometime on Tuesday. After this weekend everything should be back on schedule for a couple weeks. Talk to you then.
