Lanceleaf Arrowhead - Wet Prairie, Everglades National Park

Today was my first day using my macro lens and it was a lot of fun. Flowers are very difficult to photograph and I was really only pleased with one series of images of this Lanceleaf Arrowhead. I photographed a number of other flowers, some of which I couldn't ID but will continue to work on it. I think it was a very educational day and next time out I hopefully will be able to get images with which I am pleased.

Interesting Sightings

Today I found my first endemic species for the trip. It is a small plant with a very small white flower called the Carolina Scalystem. The variety, or subspecies, found in the Everglades is found nowhere else. While it wasn't a very visually exciting flower it was nice to find.

Other Interesting Observations:

  None.
