White Ibis in Flight - Eco Pond, Flamingo

Today was the last day of full time webpage work for a while. I did manage to sneak off to Eco Pond for about two hours this evening and met some fellow photographers and really enjoyed it. One women who was up on the platform was telling us about the baby spoonbills she had seen on a tour of Florida Bay with a guide. I have the guide's name and am going to go talk to him to see what I can learn. One other photographer offered to go with me and split the charter so I think it might be possible. After doing a little bit of research it sounds like they could be breeding all spring and this is actually on the early end of the breeding season, espcially if there are already chicks in the nests.

Interesting Sightings

Nothing too terribly intersting at Eco tonight. Had a nice flight of Ibis and a number of Spoonbills that flew over. Also heard that there is a male Cape May Warbler that is hanging out by the visitor center so I will check that out tomorrow when I do the Guy Bradley Trail.

Other Interesting Observations:

  None
