Today I spent most of the morning relaxing and working with yesterday's images. This evening I spent a brief time photographing in the mangrove forest along the trail at West Lake. I am currently preparing the Communties section of this website and will be spending the rest of this week obtaining the photographs necessary for these pages. After leaving West Lake I ventured into the wet prairie just east of Highway 9336 near Paurotis Pond. I have been wanting to explore this area for some time now and finally had the opportunity this evening. The wet prairie is scattered with small red mangrove trees and numerous hardwood hammocks. There is a minimum of six inches of water covering the entire area and tomorrow afternoon I plan to further explore the region by canoe.
