Hell's Bay Canoe Trail - Highway 9336 to Pearl Bay Chickee

This morning I decided to canoe the Hell's Bay Canoe Trail out to the Pearl Bay Chickee and then back. This was a winding and twisting trail as can be seen by the map above. Hell's Bay gets its name from the idea that it was "Hell to get into and Hell to get out of" as described by long time glades resident Glenn Simmons. I really enjoyed the trip through beautiful scenery. I did not carry my camera but plan to go back and spend time photographing the mangrove forest that we slowly made our way through.

Interesting Sightings

The Lesser Nighthawks were at Eco Pond again this evening this time were over the pond but they did not arrive until it was almost too dark to see them at all. I still would like to get a better look at them.

Other Interesting Observations:

Pearl Bay was absolutely still and made for a very peaceful lunch. I am definitely going to return to photograph this area but it will be very difficult due to the flatness of it all.
